Develop a golf specialty that fits your business and professional qualifications

Your Movement Expertise Has Value. Golf Gives It a Specific Market.

Exercise Science and Kinesiology professionals already understand how the body moves, adapts, and performs. Golf offers a specific market where that knowledge can have real value. The opportunity isn't to change your professional expertise, but to learn how to reach golfers, build relationships within the golf community, and develop a business around serving that market.

01

Apply Your Movement Expertise to a Specific Market

Golfers want to improve mobility, strength, stability, and movement efficiency. Your understanding of human movement gives you a foundation for serving those goals while developing a recognizable specialty within the golf market.

02

Build Around a Sport People Play for Decades

Golfers often remain engaged with the game for decades. That creates opportunities to build longer-term relationships with people who continue to value movement, performance, and their ability to keep playing.

03

Become Part of the Golfer's Performance Team

Golf instructors help golfers improve their swings. Your movement expertise can complement their work by addressing the physical capabilities that support the game. Building those professional relationships can create new opportunities for your business.

Adding golf fitness does not require you to change your professional focus as an Exercise Science or Kinesiology professional. It gives you a specific market in which to apply the movement expertise you already have.

✓

You Don't Need to Become a Golf Instructor

Your role is not to teach the golf swing. You bring expertise in human movement, biomechanics, strength, and physical performance. Golf professionals bring expertise in the golf game. The opportunity is to build relationships within that ecosystem and develop a golf fitness business around your existing knowledge and professional qualifications.

What If Golf Became Another Market for Your Movement Expertise?

Your understanding of human movement, biomechanics, and physical performance can be valuable to golfers who want to move better and continue enjoying the game. Developing a golf-specific business focus gives you an opportunity to reach those golfers, build relationships within the golf community, and create a specialized market around the expertise you already have.

YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS

Your Exercise Science / Kinesiology Business Today

− Your expertise may be applied across a broad range of clients, activities, and physical performance goals.
− Without a defined specialty, prospective clients may not immediately recognize how your movement knowledge applies to their particular sport.
− Business growth may depend on the clients, referral relationships, and markets you already serve.
ADDING THE GOLF MARKET

Build a Golf Business Around the Expertise You Already Have

✓ Reach golfers who may not have considered working with an Exercise Science or Kinesiology professional.
✓ Build relationships with golf instructors, clubs, and other professionals who already serve golfers.
✓ Create opportunities to apply movement analysis, strength, mobility, and performance knowledge to golfers' ongoing goals.
✓ Develop a recognizable golf specialty that can support repeat business and referrals within the golf community.
01

More Ways for Golfers to Enter Your Business

Golfers can discover your business through their interest in better movement, physical performance, and continued enjoyment of the game, not just through the clients and referral sources you currently serve.

02

Longer Client Relationships

Golfers often remain active in the game for decades. As their movement, mobility, and performance goals evolve, you have opportunities to provide ongoing services that support their ability to keep playing.

03

A New Referral Ecosystem

Relationships with golf instructors, club professionals, and others within the golf community can introduce your movement expertise to golfers who may never have discovered your business through traditional marketing or existing referrals.

04

A Specialty That Can Strengthen Your Business

Developing a recognizable golf specialty gives your business another market to serve while allowing you to continue applying your Exercise Science or Kinesiology expertise to the clients and activities already central to your practice.

The opportunity is not simply to add another service. It's to build a golf-specific market around the movement expertise you already have, creating new ways to reach golfers, develop valuable referral relationships, and grow your business.

NOT A ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL SYSTEM

Your Golf Fitness Business Should Fit Your Business

A solo practitioner, a multi-location practice, and an established business adding golf fitness are starting from different places. They shouldn't receive the same business prescription.

Understand First. Prescribe Second.

How That Support Is Applied to Your Business

Marketing Build a marketing approach around your business, your market, and the golfers you want to reach.
Education Focus on the golf-market and business knowledge that best supports where you are starting.
Coaching Get guidance and accountability based on your goals, opportunities, and stage of business development.

The tools matter. The real value is knowing how to apply them together to your business.

A REAL FITGOLF BUSINESS STORY

One Fitness Business. Two Markets. More Consistent Opportunities.

Adding golf fitness doesn't mean abandoning the clients you already serve. Greg Johnson's experience in Sacramento, California, demonstrates how a fitness professional can build a successful general fitness business while developing a golf specialty that contributes to year-round stability, long-term client relationships, and additional growth opportunities. The opportunity begins when you learn how to connect your professional knowledge with the people, relationships, and referral networks already established within the golf community.

Greg Johnson

Sacramento, California
FitGolf Sacramento owner and fitness professional with more than 20 years of experience serving golfers and general fitness clients.
THE BUSINESS LESSON

Building a Fitness Business With Golf as a Specialty

Greg Johnson's golf fitness career began more than 20 years ago inside a physical therapy practice in Sacramento, California. As demand for golf fitness services grew, Greg took on more responsibility, eventually helping move the business into a dedicated location. Over time, he developed his own general fitness business while continuing to serve golfers through FitGolf Sacramento.

Greg discovered that the two markets complemented each other. General fitness often experienced seasonal fluctuations, with busy periods around the new year and before summer. Golfers, however, needed off-season training and in-season maintenance, helping Greg maintain a more consistent schedule throughout the year.

He also developed long-term relationships with his golf clients. By regularly reassessing their changing goals, Greg created opportunities for continued training.

Today, Greg reports approximately 90% retention among his golf clients, with several relationships lasting more than 10 years. What began as a golf fitness role inside a PT practice eventually grew into an independently owned fitness business with an established golf specialty.

THE LESSON

You Don't Have to Replace Your Business to Add Golf Fitness

Greg's experience demonstrates how golf fitness can complement an established fitness business. By identifying golfers, developing relationships with their instructors, and continually responding to clients' changing goals, he built a specialty that contributes to long-term retention and year-round business stability. That's the opportunity FitGolf helps Exercise Science and Kinesiology professionals explore: how to develop the golf side of their business while building on the expertise, clients, and relationships they already have.

YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE EVERYTHING FIGURED OUT.

You probably have questions. Let's answer the ones Exercise Science and Kinesiology professionals ask us most often.

What You May Be Wondering Before You Get Started

You don't need to have every piece in place before adding golf fitness to your business. Here are some questions Exercise Science and Kinesiology professionals commonly ask when considering the FitGolf Affiliate Membership.

Will I need golf-specific training or experience to become a FitGolf Affiliate?

No. Your Exercise Science or Kinesiology background already provides a foundation in human movement and physical performance. FitGolf helps you develop the business side of a golf specialty, including reaching golfers, building relationships within the golf community, and communicating the value of your services. Depending on your background and goals, additional golf-specific education may also be valuable and is available separately from the FitGolf Affiliate Membership.

No. TPI certification can be valuable and FitGolf often recommends it as a strong educational foundation, but it is not required to become an Affiliate. The FitGolf Affiliate Membership focuses on the business side - helping you reach golfers, develop referral relationships, communicate effectively within the golf community, and build a golf fitness business around the professional expertise you already have.

No. FitGolf is designed to help you build from wherever you are starting today. Whether you already work with golfers or are just beginning to explore the golf market, the goal is to help you develop practical ways to reach golfers and build your golfer base.

No. Existing relationships can help, but they are not required. FitGolf helps you learn how to identify and develop relationships with golf professionals, clubs, and other people within the golf community who can become valuable referral partners.

No. You don't need to abandon your current services or change your approach to working with clients. FitGolf helps you add golf as a specialty within your existing business, focusing on reaching golfers, developing referral relationships, and creating opportunities to build a consistent golfer client base.

No. Many professionals can build a golf fitness business within the space and business they already have. Your starting point will depend on your current setup, the services you provide, and how you want the golf side of your business to develop.

That depends on your starting point, goals, and how quickly you want to build. FitGolf helps you focus on practical steps that fit your existing business rather than trying to build everything at once. The goal is to create consistent progress in reaching golfers, developing relationships, and growing the golf side of your business.

No. The FitGolf Affiliate model can work for solo practitioners, larger practices, and multi-location businesses. The approach should fit the business you already have, which is why we begin by understanding your current model, goals, and opportunities before determining the best starting point.

FitGolf may create lead opportunities, but the Affiliate Membership is not built around simply sending you golfers. The larger goal is to help you develop your own ability to reach golfers, build referral relationships, create visibility in your golf community, and generate more consistent opportunities for your business.

We start by understanding your business, your goals, your current golfer base, and the relationships you already have. From there, we help you identify your best starting point and begin putting the appropriate marketing, relationship-building, and business-development strategies into action.
